A panel of 4000 online judges chooses the winning videos of Can you imagine a world without it?
Comedy, suspense and horror videos, musicals and cartoons … about the difficult and even absurd situations we would have to live through if one day paper and paper producers were to disappear
A panel made up of 3,757 online judges has chosen from among the 67 submissions, the winners of our online video contest called Can you imagine a world without it? sponsored by the trade organisations of the paper macro-sector (papermakers, printers, book publishers, direct marketing firms, corrugated and coated board packaging makers, manufacturers of paper bags, envelopes, binders, notebooks…).
The winning video, rewarded with a prize of 2,000 Euros, is called “La Pedrá” by José Luis González, followed by runners-up Pilar Torres with “Can You Imagine A World Without …?”, “I Can't Live Without You” by Bárbara Monzú and “You Can't Imagine” by Juanjo Mora, all of whom received a prize of € 500 each.
The 67 videos submitted for contest include a little of everything: amusing comedies, musicals, cartoons, thrillers and horror movies … and all of them depicted extraordinary imagination and creativity. The difficult, even absurd, situations that we would have to live through if one day paper were to disappear from our lives. How complicated it would be to find a replacement for paper in so many different applications. All the things we would lose without paper, the terror of waking up one day to find it gone… How would we wrap that special gift? What would we use for crib-sheets at exam time? What would origami be without paper? Would it mean a return to clay slabs, to chiselled stone? And what about the bathroom? How would we manage without paper? Breakfast without paper or cardboard, can you imagine?
The website for the contest www.teimaginasunmundosinel.com has clocked up over 11,200 visits and the videos in the contest have been viewed over 19,700 times. At the same time, more than 600 viewers heard news about the contest through social networking.
Internet surfers made up the jury panel, consisting of nearly 4,000 people, who also opted for a prize of € 500 as judges, which went to Paula Álvarez.
